S. Roy Erlichman, PhD, CAP, CEDS, F.IAEDP

Dr. S. Roy Erlichman holds degrees in both psychology and family therapy. He is a Certified Addictions Professional (CAP), a Certified Eating Disorders Specialist (CEDS), an Approved Clinical Supervisor and Fellow of The International Association of Eating Disorders Professionals (IAEDP). Dr. Erlichman has served as president of the board of directors of IAEDP, as a chairperson of the certification committee, and was co-author of the first major revisions of the certification requirements for professionals. In 2016 he was the recipient of the IAEDP Lifetime Achievement Award. Currently he is an active member of the IAEDP Senior Advisory Board and International Board of directors, the international IAEDP Board advisory committee, and awards committee that recognizes deserving professionals in the field.


Dr. Erlichman is a graduate of The Philadelphia School of Psychoanalysis and completed the certification program in family treatment at the Department of Family Psychiatry at Eastern Pennsylvania Psychiatric Institute. He is a member of Phi Beta Kappa and numerous professional organizations. Currently he serves as an associate editor and contributor to 
Perspectives Journal of the Renfrew Center Foundation.

Dr. Erlichman has worked extensively in treating complex mental health issues, severe personality disorders, trauma, chronic illness, addictions, and other important health care issues. The mind/body relationship is of special importance to him in his work with individuals, couples, and families. Dr. Erlichman’s work is dedicated to the practice of psychotherapy and clinical supervision of other professionals.

Dr. Erlichman is a frequent presenter at professional conferences throughout the United States. His particular interest areas are working with highly resistant behaviors, counter-transference, and the needs of the practicing therapist. He has written numerous professional articles and appeared on many television and radio programs. Most recently Dr. Erlichman received a 2019 Lifetime Achievement Award from Who’s Who In America. His biography will be in included in 2020 issue of Who’s Who In America.
